Who was Mary Stuart?

Mary Stuart was best known for role as Joanne Gardner/Barron/Tate/Tourner/Vincente on the daytime
television show Search for Tomorrow (and later as Meta Bauer on The Guiding Light) but she was also an
accomplished singer, songwriter and author in addition to being a loving mother, grandmother and wife.
We have tried to capture a few of her many contributions and accomplishments in an effort to keep her
extraordinary legacy alive.

Writing

Mary wrote short stories, songs, children’s books and loads and loads of ‘notes’ throughout her life. In 1980, Doubleday published her autobiography Both of Me. Then in 1988, New York Magazine published Mary’s article recounting her long-term relationship with “Lilli” -- a homeless woman living in Central Park. Click below to read more.
